An architectural
colorist can help you increase the beauty and value of your home
or business. Color is the first thing people notice when they
approach a building, or enter a room. Art First will specify
colors for paint, roofing materials, tile, carpet, countertops and other
surfaces, to create a unified and dynamic effect for your interior
and exterior projects. We will help with the selection of fabrics, window coverings, lighting fixtures and artwork. Art First can
also advise on the best placement for furnishings, lighting and
artwork, re-create your space with what you have, or improve
it with smart, economical additions.
Unique design for your
needs
Every structure,
like every homeowner, is unique. As an artist, I approach
each project as a new creative opportunity. I don't use
fixed color palettes, because they can't express the individual
nature of a place. I have never duplicated the same color
plan for two different buildings.
My personal attention to your needs, either meeting on site or working at a distance, is a guarantee that the results are of consistent excellence. |

Historic and original colors
If your property
has historic merit, I can determine the original paint colors,
and also formulate a color palette which is historically correct
for the architectural style. So, if the paint colors selected
by the first homeowners are not to your taste, there is an opportunity
to adjust the colors and remain true to the spirit of the time.

the use of no-odor, low VOC paints and other materials. |
The Decision
When you need
to make a change in your environment, or correct unsightly architectural faults, my consultations are efficient
and reasonably priced. You will get:
- an initial visit
to the site (or review of your photos, for distance clients),
- a consultation
on the architectural considerations in your color and design
choices;
- clarification
of your color preferences and the mood you would like to create;
- color sample specifications
for walls, ceiling, and trim
- additional details
for improvements in design
- follow-up visits, if needed;
and
- final specification
sheets listing the types and colors of paint and materials you
need, and their placement.
The job isn't
finished until you are pleased.
